Our 2014 Annual Report is here and so is summer! Take a look to see what CODEV has accomplished in the field of cooperation and development.

One of the highlights of early 2015 was the unveiling of the prototype GLOBALdiagnostiX, a High-Tech Low-Cost Medical Imaging System Designed for the Global South. A photo-exhibition on the Challenges of Medical Technologies in Africa was also presented at the Rolex Learning Center, EPFL.

Don’t forget to save the date for our next UNESCO Conference in Technologies for Development (Tech4Dev 2016) which will take place from May 2-4 2016 at the Swiss Tech Convention Center!

Finally, X-ray imaging within the reach of developing countries

— Two thirds of humankind do not have access to radiography, essential to the practice of modern medicine. On March 9th in Lausanne (Switzerland), EPFL and its partners presented GlobalDiagnostiX, a high-tech device ten times cheaper when considering existing pieces of equipment together with their maintenance costs, and specifically designed for developing countries. Famous economist Jeffrey Sachs is enthusiastic about this project!
