Professor Weinand shares his interest and enthusiasm for the work of the Grubenmann family in an interview published in the latest issue of the Swiss architecture magazine MODULOR.

The work of the Grubenmann family has fascinated for many years. As a family of carpenters, master builders and master builders of the 18th century, they have left a formidable heritage of wooden constructions. The variety of their structures (bridges and frameworks) and the ingenuity of their design still constitutes an amazing source of inspiration for contemporary builders.
Professor Yves Weinand, who studied a wide selection of their works, (in the course "Designing Structures", with his architecture and civil engineering students), shares with us a little of their secrets.
