Yiqun Li joined HOBEL in January 2025 as a visiting PhD student. She is currently a Year-4 PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Wei Ye at Tongji University. She received her bachelor’s degree from Shenyang Jianzhu University, China in 2020.
Yiqun’s research focuses on low-carbon clean air systems in buildings, particularly on the differences and combined benefits between filtered outdoor air (via mechanical ventilation systems) and purified indoor air (via portable air cleaners). Her previous work, based on field studies, identified the potential of portable air cleaners as a substitute for mechanical ventilation and explored the optimal balance between the two using multi-objective optimization. Most recently, she has been conducting theoretical analyses at the pollutant level to quantify the differences between various clean air types and looks forward to conducting related experimental research at EPFL.
