Yafei Qiao successfully defended his PhD dissertation!

Yafei Qiao, joint doctoral assistant at LMS, successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled “Thermoviscoplastic Constitutive Model and Double-structure Swelling Model: Application to Nuclear Waste Geological Disposal” at Tongji University on January 7, 2017.
The PhD work was done under the supervision of Prof. W.Q. Ding (Tongji University) and Prof. L. Laloui (EPFL). The thesis consisted in the development of three constitutive models, namely, ACMEG-VP, ACMEG-TVP and ACMEG-DS, and a THM analysis of the FEBEX in-situ test. The thesis was also selected for the best thesis of Chinese Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering.
