The Dr. Falk Foundation awarded the “Windaus Prize” to Prof. Johan Auwerx and Dr. Kristina Schoonjans.
The Dr. Falk Foundation awarded the “Windaus Prize” to Prof. Johan Auwerx and Dr. Kristina Schoonjans (LISP – Laboratory of Integrative Systems Physiology) for their discovery of the signaling/endocrine function of bile acids. Adolf Windaus won the 1928 Nobel Prize for the identification of steroid hormones and vitamin D; the prize honors discoveries in the same general field. The award ceremony is scheduled on October 7-8th in Freiburg.
