Welcoming Qianjun Xu to Lab COSMO!

Qianjun earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Fudan University in Shanghai, where he studied protein complexes and lipid self-assembly using computational simulations under the guidance of Prof. Xin Xu and Dr. Jingwei Weng. He then joined EPFL for his M.S. in Chemistry and carried out his thesis in the COSMO lab, focusing on the pKa/pKb calculation of phosphoric acid and its salts using simulations driven by machine learning potentials.

For his PhD, Qianjun will continue his research on aqueous systems while also exploring methods to quantify the predictive uncertainty of machine learning models for time-dependent properties. We’re delighted to have him stay with the group and wish him all the luck for his PhD .
