Prof. Pei Chiu is visiting EML, to learn more about anaerobic microbial processes and the environmental research being conducted at EPFL.

Prof. Pei Chiu is a professor of environmental engineering at the University of Delaware in the United States. He studies the transformation of organic contaminants in natural and engineered systems. His current work is focused on (1) reductive degradation of energetic compounds (e.g., explosives and propellants) by iron oxides and carbon in soil, and (2) microbial respiration of black carbon (e.g., biochar and wildfire chars).

For any questions related to his research, feel free to contact him by email at [email protected].
