Joseph Dussault joins the EML team as a visiting master student. He will work with Katharina Reinhold on a SNF project to investigate microbial uranium reduction.
This project deals with the biological reduction of uranium and understanding the mechanism of reduction and the associated uranium isotopic fractionation. It involves using a combination of microbiology, chemistry and synchrotron-based spectroscopy to decipher the details on the mechanism.
