Welcome to all new EDMT doctoral students!

On October 7th, 2021, the doctoral program in Management of Technology hosted its annual event to welcome its new students and to deliver the 2nd annual Kilian Schindler Excellence Award.

The event began with a welcome message by Prof. Thomas Weber, director of the EDMT doctoral program, which was followed by short self-introductions by the incoming new PhD students (in photo left-to-right, top-down):

  • Atin Aboutorabi, joining the team of Prof. Gaétan de Rassenfosse (chair IIPP)
  • Mengmeng Li, joining the team of Prof. Daniel Kuhn (chair RAO)
  • Mohammadsaeed Masiha, joining the team of Prof. Negar Kiyavash (chair BAN)
  • Pietro Bargagli Stoffi, joining the team of Prof. Marc Gruber (chair ENTC) and Claudia Binder (chair HERUS)
  • Roy Sarkis, joining the team of Prof. Luisa Lambertini (chair CFI)
  • Tianshu Yang, joining the team of Prof. Daniel Kuhn (chair RAO)
  • Yanan Niu, joining the team of Prof. Luisa Lambertini (chair CFI).

Eduardo Schindler then presented the award created in memory of his son, Kilian Schindler a former PhD Student of Prof. Daniel Kuhn, who sadly passed away in May 2020.

After Dr. Cagil Kocyigit in 2020, the second award was given out to Dr. Rachel Lacroix, who freshly graduated in summer 2021, under the supervision of Prof. Ralf Seifert (chair TOM). She was chosen by a committee composed of several EDMT faculty members. Dr. Lacroix then presented her PhD thesis entitled “Industry 4.0 Technologies and Customer-Centricity for Digital Supply Chains.”

The gathering was concluded with a reception and refreshments where students and faculty had the chance to exchange ideas and get to know each other.
