After investigating the world of proteins, she returned to soft materials to begin a PhD with SMaL!
Louisa Rinaldi obtained her Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering with a minor in biotechnologies from EPFL in 2024. During her studies, she developed a growing interest in soft and bioinspired materials. She completed her Master's thesis at McGill University, where she investigated mussel foot protein behavior through a simplified bottom-up reconstruction approach.
During her PhD with SMaL, her research will focus on load-bearing porous calcium phosphate-based materials.
