Welcome Dr. Pol to COSMO Lab

Pol brings an impressive background in nanoscience, computational materials science, and machine learning. He completed his undergraduate degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, followed by a Master’s in Multidisciplinary Research at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where he worked on DFT descriptions of nanoporous graphene.

He then returned to Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona for his PhD in Materials Science, with a focus on electrochemistry calculations using Non-Equilibrium Green’s Functions and the development of equivariant graph neural networks to predict density matrices.

At COSMO Lab, he’ll be diving into simulating large systems using indirect Hamiltonian learning—a challenge we know he’ll take on with brilliance! We wish him all the best in this exciting new endeavor!
