We are excited to welcome Daniele, our newest postdoc, with his expertise in shape-memory materials to SMaL!
Daniele completed his PhD in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Bologna in Italy. His doctoral research centered on stimuli-responsive polymers, encompassing the synthesis of crosslinkable polymers, the investigation of structure–property relationships in semicrystalline shape-memory networks, and the 3D printing of thermo- and photo-responsive reversible shape-memory materials.
At SMaL, Daniele’s research will address the development of novel granular double network elastomers capable of shape-memory behavior and processable via direct ink writing. His project aims to elucidate the influence of the chemical structure of polymeric precursors on their thermal, mechanical, and responsive properties.
