Wei Jia joined HOBEL in January 2024 as a visiting Doctoral student. He is currently a Year-4 PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Yuguo Li at the University of Hong Kong. He received his bachelor’s degree from Chongqing University, China in 2018.
Wei’s research has been focused on the field of respiratory disease transmission and infection control. His previous work explored the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak investigation, the development of short-range airborne transmission models, heterogeneous Wells-Riley model, and the threshold effective dilution air rate for respiratory infection control. Most recently, he is working on establishing a real-time monitoring and warning system for COVID-19 and influenza infection in building environment.
