You are the author of a beautiful PDF document (a business report, an instruction manual) and you would like to put it online? Thanks to a new Wordpress block, it is possible to browse and zoom in on a file directly on a web page.

In August 2020, the Wordpress team improved the display of a .pdf on EPFL websites. With the 'EPFL PDF Flipbook' block, you can now embed it on one of your pages.
The user can then move from one page of the document to another, and zoom in on its content. The size of the window adapts to the browser (screen or mobile phone).
The .pdf itself is hosted in the site's file folder (Media Library).
We recommend the use of this block, rather than commercial solutions such as Issuu. You remain the owner of your documents, and you don't have to pay for a license.

How to do it

  • on your Wordpress page, add a block and choose ''EPFL PDF Flipbook''.
  • Download a new file or choose an existing pdf.
  • Check that the 'PDF Embed' option linked to this file is set to ON.
