Visiting Researcher

Edward Andò is a CNRS "Ingénieur de Recherche" in the field of geomechanics. Edward specialises in field measurements applied to mechanical testing, especially in the context of micro-mechanical modelling. He is known for his experimental work on granular materials with x-ray tomography, and has been also working on concrete and rocks since many years, always with an Open Science approach like EESD's.

Edward will be working on a number of topics in EESD related to micro-mechanics, photomechanics and x-ray tomography, and will be working on a high-stress direct shear device for use in PIXE's x-ray scanner.

In the autumn term he will teach a masters course called "Quantitative Imaging for Civil Engineers".
