URBES at Positions 2023

URBES contributes to the exhibition “Positions: Transcalar Prospects in Climate Crisis” organised by EPFL Architecture (30 May – 28 July 2023, Archizoom)
The video installation City | Organism by Isabella Capel-Timms (University College London) and Gabriele Manoli (EPFL URBES) is presented at Positions 2023. The animation combines recent work of the lab to show the growth of London’s population, its vascular (railway) system, its daily heartbeat (passenger flows), and skin temperature (the urban heat island effect), revealing striking similarities between urbanization and biological systems.
