Following the momentum generated by its ten editions, the Ecoparc Forum continues today its development, intensifies its role of an exchange platform, and changes its name. Organized jointly by the Ecoparc Association and the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) of the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), in partnership with the journal Tracés, this biennial event will become from its next edition the "Forum des transitions urbaines".

Since 2001, the Ecoparc Forum aims to promote knowledge transfer and exchange between people from different backgrounds, in particular from the academic world, the public domain, and the private sector. Every two years, each edition approaches from different angles an important theme for the future of our built environment. The forum thus constitutes a meeting place for researchers, practitioners, political decision-makers, and heads of public services interested in the developments taking place in urban areas.

Entitled "Réinventer les rives urbaines?", this forum will be held in September 2021 in the Auditorium of Microcity, an EPFL branch in Neuchâtel (Switzerland). In the context of the fight against urban sprawl, the protection of the landscape, and the evolution of the place of water in the city, a new era is beginning to bring about new equilibriums between rivers and urban territories they cross. The objective of the forum will be to provide participants with an overview of essential issues, innovative approaches, and pioneering experiences linked to the evolution of urban shores with a view to sustainability transitions.
