Two prizes for Anna Fontcuberta i Morral

Anna Fontcuberta i Morral, a professor in the School of Engineering and EPFL's next president, has recently been awarded two different prizes that honor the achievements of women in science and engineering.

On the 20th of June, Fontcuberta i Morral, who heads of the joint School of Engineering-School of Basic Sciences Lab of Semiconductor Materials, received the Prize for Women in Engineering from the office of Technical Engineering and Engineering Degrees of Catalonia (METGEC), during a event that celebrated the 2024 International Women in Engineering Day.

On the 26th of June, she received the FEDEPE (Spanish Federation of Female Directors, Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs) International Award in Madrid, "in recognition of her outstanding scientific career and her contribution to women's leadership globally".

Anna Fontcuberta i Morral's research centers on the materials science and engineering of semiconductor nanostructures, specifically nanowires. She will take over as EPFL President on January 1, 2025.
