In 2021, two papers from Laboratory of Intelligent Systems have been highlighted during the annual IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA 2021) awards event.

Each year, the RA-L Senior Volunteers (EiC, Deputy EiC, and Senior Editors) nominate and vote for the Best Paper(s) published online in the previous calendar year. The announcements are made at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation awards event.

In 2021, two papers from Laboratory of Intelligent Systems have been highlighted:

Przemyslaw Mariusz Kornatowski, Mir Feroskhan, William J. Stewart, and Dario Floreano received a 2020 Honorable Mention from the IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters for the paper:

Przemyslaw Mariusz Kornatowski, Mir Feroskhan, William J. Stewart, and Dario Floreano, "A Morphing Cargo Drone for Safe Flight in Proximity of Humans," in IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, vol. 5, no. 3, pp. 4233-4240, July 2020, DOI: 10.1109/LRA.2020.2993757

Additionally, Koji Minoda, Fabian Schilling, Valentin Wüest, Dario Floreano, and Takehisa Yairi have been nominated for the Best Paper Award in Robot Vision:

Koji Minoda, Fabian Schilling, Valentin Wüest, Dario Floreano, and Takehisa Yairi, “VIODE: A Simulated Dataset to Address the Challenges of Visual-Inertial Odometry in Dynamic Environments,” in IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, vol. 6, no. 2, pp. 1343–1350, Apr. 2021, DOI: 10.1109/LRA.2021.3058073
