TOPO: autonomous search-and-rescue operation with EPFL sensors
Sensors developed at TOPO where used for the demonstration flight of the CLOSEARCH project, which EPFL-TOPO part is supervised by Dr. Jan Skaloud.
The project name is an acronym for 'Accurate and safe EGNOS-SoL Navigation for UAV-based low-cost Search And Rescue (SAR) operations' and is financed by FP7 program. Apart EPFL-TOPO the other project partners are Institute of Geomatics (project leader), Association of Industries Navarra (AINS), Catalan Cartographic Institute (ICC) and civil protection authorities.
An external Swiss partner to the project is REGA.
