Tire Emissions Research 2024: Global Efforts Highlighted in Munich, Boston to Host 2025 Edition

The Tire Emissions Research Conference 2024, held in Munich, Germany, concluded successfully, showcasing studies on the environmental and health impacts of tire emissions. The conference brought together scientists, industries and international organisations to discuss innovative strategies for addressing tire-related pollution, including advanced analytical methods, mitigation technologies, and ecotoxicological insights.

Dr. Florian Breider, contributor as part of the scientific committee, played a role in curating the event’s program. Sessions covered diverse topics such as stormwater management, environmental distribution of tire wear particles, and their impact on ecosystems and human health. The dynamic exchanges during the sessions highlighted the urgency and global nature of addressing tire emissions.

As the conference wrapped up in the historic city of Munich, organizers announced that the 2025 edition will take place at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston. The Boston event aims to further the research momentum established in Munich while encouraging new international partnerships.
