Since 2011, each year a hundred experts propose their ten favorite start-ups. Only condition to the exercise: these companies must be less than five years old, sayd the organizers of the ranking, Beat Schillig and Jordi Montserrat of the Institut für Jungunternehmen (IFJ).

This year, the EPFL and its spin-off companies look very strong. Three of them are at the top. The first place went to cleantech the start-up L.E.S.S. This company has developed a new lighting, superior to LEDs in many ways, says the press release.

In second place we find Abionic who developed a"revolutionary" test for allergies, which is able to provide results directly in medical offices or pharmacies. The third place is occupied by Flyability. This "flagship of the Swiss flying robotics" realized the drone "Gimball", capable of efficient behaviours in extremely difficult environments.

In the TOP100 2015, 39 start-ups are French-speaking and 28 based in the canton of Vaud. More on www.startup.ch
