On Wednesday, June 4th, 2014, at the French Embassy in Bern, French Ambassador to Switzerland Michel Duclos presented the 2014 Young Entrepreneur Award to three students from the EPFL School of Computer and Communication Sciences.

The 2014 Young Entrepreneur Award competition was organized by the Swiss Section of the Foreign Trade Advisors of France association, in partnership with four major Swiss higher education institutions: the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETHZ), the University of St. Gallen and the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL). Each year, this award is given to students in recognition of an outstanding contribution (e.g. service, product, brand, etc.) to improving trade ties between France and Switzerland. This is the thirteenth time that such a competition has been held in Switzerland

The first round of the competition involved each of the four participating institutions submitting various project proposals for internal consideration. The Foreign Trade Advisors of France juries then selected one project proposal from each institution for the second round of the competition. On Wednesday, June 4th, four teams presented their project proposal to a main jury at the French Embassy in Bern. The first prize was awarded to three EPFL students whose project proposal involves development of an automated system to secure the computer networks of organizations and businesses.
