The Swiss Federal Office of Energy launches a new SWEET call 2-2021

The focus of this Call 2-2021 is on Critical Infrastructures, Climate Change, and Resilience of the Swiss Energy System. Deadline for pre-proposal: 3 December 2021. Mandatory notification of interest: 11 October 2021.

SWEET (SWiss Energy research for the Energy Transition) is a funding programme of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE). The aim of this call is to analyse the influence of the energy transformation on critical infrastructures. Moreover, the vulnerability of the energy system to technical, natural and societal hazards is to be studied. Of particular interest are hazards that are influenced by climate change.

SWEET targets cooperative consortia of institutionsworking together over 6 to 8 years to pursue portfolios of interrelated, transdisciplinary projects. A consortium comprises at least 5 applicants from different legal entities and is led by a host institution which is a Swiss institution of higher education and the legal entity applying on behalf of a consortium.

SWEET Call 2-2021 is organized as a two-step process:

  1. All interested consortia can submit a pre-proposal no later than3 December 2021 (12 noon CEST).
  2. A short-list of the highest-ranking consortia will be invited to submit a full proposal. Deadline in February 2022. The deadline for submission of full proposals is April 2022.

Important: Consortia that intend to submit a pre-proposal must inform the SFOE by sending a notification of intent to submit to [email protected] no later than 11 October 2021 at 12:00 noon CEST.
