EPFL’s School of Life Sciences celebrates 144 graduates at the 2025 Magistrale, the university’s annual graduation ceremony.

Among the excited 1357 EPFL graduates of 2025 there were a total of 144: 95 with a Master in Life Sciences Engineering and 49 with a Master in Neuro-X.

Student Awards – Life Sciences Engineering

  • Best Master’s project: Daniil Bobrovskii
  • Best average grade: Luca Robert Liebi
  • Second-best average: Victoria Marie Rivet
  • Third-best average: Anna Chamot

The ONWARD Prize, which recognizes the best master project demonstrating excellence and contributing to the advancement of scientific or technical research in the field of neurorehabilitation, was awarded to:

  • Emma Farina
  • Nerea-Isabel Carbonell Muñoz

Meanwhile, the Annaheim-Mattille Prize, awarded to the student who has presented a high-level Master’s project dedicated to bringing together life sciences and informatics, was awarded to Alicia Jocelyne Milloz.

There were also two Section teaching awards winners. The Polysphère Award for SV went to Professor Camille Goemans (interview). The Polysphère Awards are given out by EPFL students every year to the professors who have stood out for their excellence in teaching.

In a similar vein, the EPFL Award for Best Teaching for the School of Life Sciences went to Professor Alexander Mathis. The EPFL Award for Best Teaching recognizes excellence in teaching at EPFL.

Addressing the graduates, Professor Andrew C. Oates, the Dean of the School of Life Sciences said: “Always remember that you are part of where we are going. Dream big and use what you have learned at EPFL for the benefit of society. We look forward to staying in touch with you, as our most appreciated ambassadors.”
