The EPFL Procurement Department has just published its sustainable procurement charter.

In accordance with the 2030 climate and sustainability strategy, the Vice Presidency for Responsible Transformation and the Procurement Department are working closely together to promote sustainable purchasing at EPFL.

This purchasing policy is based on "a circular economy approach promoting sharing, reuse, repair, renovation and recycling" and is structured around 3 axes:

  • Supporting the EPFL community towards more sustainable purchasing practices.
  • Promoting a sustainable supply chain
  • Encouraging innovative partnerships with suppliers

It is within this framework, and in order to reflect EPFL's commitment to improve its purchasing practices by describing its ambition and expectations to suppliers, that this document has been created.
