Much more than just a sports tournament, the Students' Games are a celebration of sport and fair play, promoting encounters and entertainment, and offering an unforgettable 48-hour experience.

A vibrant university tradition

Since its first edition in 2018, this inter-university sports tournament has become an eagerly-awaited tradition for students from universities and colleges in Switzerland and neighboring countries.

From Friday, April 19 to Sunday, April 21, 2024, the UNIL and EPFL Sports Center will once again vibrate to the rhythm of this event, welcoming over 700 participants representing more than twenty institutions. For two days, they will be giving their all in a bid to lift their school to the top of the podium.

Program

With no fewer than 13 different disciplines, the Students’ Games offer a wide range of options for everyone to excel in their preferred discipline. From running and badminton to beach volleyball and table tennis, there's something for everyone! The only requirement for these tournaments is fair play and respect.

Between matches, the sports village will be the ideal place to relax and have fun. On Sunday, athletes and spectators alike will be able to take part in a range of fun, sporting and relaxing activities. UNIL and EPFL associations will also be in the spotlight, with food and entertainment stalls.

The Student's Games are also intended to be a festive and convivial event, conducive to sharing and getting together. The opening ceremony on Friday evening marks the start of the festivities, giving the various delegations the opportunity to meet each other. After an intense day of competition on Saturday, the evening will be the perfect opportunity to relax and celebrate the teams' performances.

Practical information

Registration is open on the Students' Games websiteuntil April 7. And for those interested in a unique experience in organizing sporting events, the team is actively seeking volunteers to join the staff for this year's event.

The Students' Games committee is delighted to see the Sports Centre once again come alive with the fervour of hundreds of students from near and far. It is part of the Pôle des Évènements Sportif Étudiants (PESE) of the Service Sport Santé UNIL+EPFL and has been working with dedication for several months to offer an enriching and memorable experience to the student community.
