Swiss Photovoltaic conference in Lausanne: some highlights and best Poster Award for Hugo Quest from PV-Lab & 3S!

The 22nd Swiss PV Conference, hosted at the EPFL Convention Center in Lausanne, saw significant involvement from the PV-Lab of EPFL, which played a crucial role in its organization and representation. With over 1000 participants, the conference unfolded over two days, featuring a range of presentations and discussions.

Distinguished speakers, including EPFL President Martin Vetterli, Federal Councilor Albert Rösti, and National Councilor Jaqueline de Quattro, kicked off the event with speeches. Among the highlights was a lively debate on Switzerland's transition from 10% to 50% solar electricity, in which Christophe Ballif also participated.

Notable presentations included groundbreaking research on perovskites, perovskite/c-Si tandem technology, and various applications of PV in mobility, presented by Christian Wolff and Antonin Faes. Additionally, teams from Neuchâtel and CSEM showcased their research contributions through numerous posters.

One particularly noteworthy poster was presented by Hugo Quest, earning acclaim for its application of unique diagnostics, fault detection techniques, and performance loss rate analysis to the Mont-Soleil powerplant, which has been operational for over 30 years. Congratulations were extended to Hugo and his co-authors from PV-Lab, CSEM, BFH, and 3S Swiss Solar Solutions for their outstanding achievement.
