Starting this spring, Swiss Olympic will be offering personalized career and post-career support for athletes in French-speaking Switzerland. Starting this spring, a Swiss Olympic career advisor will be on hand at the Service Sport Santé UNIL+EPFL once a week.
Being a young top-level athlete involves a multitude of challenges and can sometimes be a little confusing, as there are so many parameters to coordinate: training, of course, but also studies, family and friends.
Swiss Olympic has chosen Dorigny to set up an "Athlete Hub" for the whole of French-speaking Switzerland, to support young talent in planning and managing their careers, as well as elite sportsmen and women in general. The aim is to provide a regional point of contact to offer personalized support around and beyond the sporting career.
Starting this spring, a Swiss Olympic career advisor (Maja Neuenschwander, Jonathan Massacand, Simon Niepmann or Ewa Haldemann) will be on hand at the Service Sport Santé UNIL+EPFL once a week. All Olympic sportsmen and women in French-speaking Switzerland will be able to benefit from individual consultations on the Dorigny campus, during which they will be able to discuss topics such as training paths, employment, post-career preparation, or broader subjects relating to sporting and personal development (nutrition, psychology, prevention or ethics, for example). Depending on requests, Swiss Olympic will provide direct support or call on its network of experts, notably within the Service Sport Santé UNIL+EPFL.
The Swiss Olympia Park Project
As well as strengthening Swiss Olympic's presence in French-speaking Switzerland, the Athlete Hub is also part of the broader Swiss Olympic Park project, to which UNIL, EPFL and the Service Sport Santé UNIL+EPFL are committed. As a network of innovative forces from the worlds of sport, business and science, the project aims to create a new national ecosystem to strengthen performance sport in Switzerland.
This is an exciting opportunity for Dorigny to position itself as an important national hub of the Swiss Olympic Park.
