The School Assembly hosted M. Luca Fontana on October 8, to discuss the results for the year 2018 – 2019 of the Mobility plan of EPFL.
Some highlights:
- EPFL Sustainability - The strategy is based on three pillars: carbon neutrality in 2020, strong and integrated sustainability, special projects.
- Commuting - The same trend can be observed among students and staff: a decrease in the number of cars and scooters, an increase in cycling and pedestrian journeys.
- Professional mobility - Pilot project in SV: "Travel Less Without Loss" to reduce the impact of professional travel on the environment, including the drafting of a good practice guide to encourage researchers to be attentive. We could expect a 30% reduction in the CO2 impact if such measures were applied throughout EPFL.
