We present and implement a scheme, which allows to efficiently reduce external frequency noise and to stabilize the fundamental mechanical mode to its fundamental thermal limit.

External frequency noise drastically limits many applications of highly sensitive nanomechanical transducers. We present and implement a scheme, which allows to efficiently reduce external frequency noise and to stabilize the fundamental mechanical mode to its fundamental thermal limit. Importantly, the stabilization scheme is non-perturbative and thus preserves the detection capabilities of the nanomechanical transducer.
