Spin orbital separation in a quasi-one-dimensional material

The former LQM PhD student M. Mourigal together with Prof. H. Ronnow are coauthors of a recent Letter in Nature on spin-orbital separation in a quasi-one dimensional material Sr2CuO3.
This is the first observation of orbitons. It was done using resonant inelastic X-ray scattering. More info can be obtained on the following link:
