The Lausanne company Solstis Sarl, founded in 1996 by Pascal Affolter and Jacques Bonvin, then researchers at the EPFL Solar Energy and Building Physics Laboratory, reaches new heights.
Distinguished by the Swiss Solar Prize in 2006, 2009 and 2010, Solstis Sarl has not only obtained a first contract in the Middle East but has also been contracted to build the major part of the 2 MW-pic solar photovoltaic plant installed in three stages on the roof of the EPFL (20'000 m2), financed by Romande Energie (20 mio CHF). Market leader in Suisse Romande with more than 150 solar photovoltaic systems and 70'000 m2 installed solar panels, the company employs more than 35 staff members.
