SOIL had a booth at the Scientastic festival. We had a great weekend explaining our work to the public!
The Scientastic festival was organized by EPFL at Alpole this year. At the SOIL booth, we had two sections, one focused on the living things in soils and one focused on the non-living things. For the living things, we had a microscope where kids (and adults!) could see very small soil inhabitants. For the non-living things, we had a grade of different textures from very coarse to very fine. Visitors could explore the different textures and make a guess for the texture of real soil. A huge thank you to all the SOIL members who were involved in creating the booth and entertaining the visitors!
