Approved amount per discipline is the following:

The SNSF provides project funding to enable qualified researchers to conduct research projects on self-chosen topics and with self-chosen goals independently and under their own responsibility. Through project funding, it aims to award researchers a basic grant that is appropriate for the planned research. In particular, researchers can apply for coverage of research costs and staff salaries as well as for the funding of scientific cooperation, networking and communication.

The full list of EPFL-led granted proposals is available on the Grant Search Portal of the SNSF.

Congratulations to all the grantees!

SNSF Budget Cuts:

The SNSF is preparing for possible budget cuts, as the Federal Council plans to reduce its funding by 10% in 2027 and 11% in 2028. Parliament will decide next year, but the SNSF must plan ahead because funding decisions made in 2026 will affect research through 2030.

The Research Council will prepare the 2026 funding plan, outlining allocations for upcoming calls. Funding adjustments will be distributed across the Administrative Offices, honorary bodies, and evaluation budgets.
