SNSF is increasing the minimum salaries for doctoral students

The new minimum salary will not have an impact at EPFL.
We would like to bring to your attention to the news from the SNSF concerning a minimum PhD salary of 50’000 CHF effective 01.01.2026.
Please be aware that the new minimum salary will not have an impact at EPFL. As of 01.05.2024, EPFL implemented a PhD salary of 55’000 CHF, therefore, negating a salary range i.e. a salary minimum or maximum. The 55’000 CHF PhD salary is utilized regardless of the year of a PhDs studies.
