SNSF Assistant Professor Energy Grant awarded to Prof. Wendy Queen
Prof. Wendy Queen, head of the Laboratory of functional inorganic materials (School SB) has been awarded an Assistant Professor (AP) Energy grant by the SNSF. The SNSF awarded seven AP Energy Grants for the overall call 2014. These grants are aimed at promoting young scientists in the field of energy research.
The goal of the project of Prof. Queen - Nanoporous Adsorbents for Energetically Favorable Industrial Gas Seperations - is to develop a research platform that will allow a systematic study of the molecular factors that make a material more ideal for gas separation and/or catalysis and use that knowledge for the deliberate design of crystalline materials with targeted function. Particular attention will be paid to understanding and designing new materials for carbon capture purposes.
