Shadi Sharif Azadeh, a postdoc at ENAC’s Transport and Mobility Laboratory, has received a Marie Curie Postdoctoral fellowship for her project entitled: A new approach to transportation demand modeling using aggregated data.

Shadi Sharif Azadeh’s research focuses on integrating choice models and optimization in the field of transport. The objective of her research is to propose a data driven mathematical model to capture passenger behavior while optimizing network efficiency based on the service level. In addition, she aims to estimate substitution probabilities when resources change due to stock outs. The outcome is crucial for inventory control and resource allocation in transportation systems to keep the service level as high as possible while making the whole system profitable.

Shadi Sharif Azadeh has been appointed EPFL Fellow co-funded by Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships at the EPFL. Besides her position as Postdoc at the Transport and Mobility Laboratory, she also holds a research affiliate position at MIT’s ITS lab.

EPFL’s international postdoctoral fellowship program aims to attract experienced researchers of any nationality to the EPFL, to provide them state-of-the art conditions for research, to develop their leadership potential and to position them for success as future research leaders through a research-intensive training.
