EPFL will be hosting the European Society for Engineering Education (SEFI) 2024 Annual conference from 2 to 5 September 2024, welcoming over 400 colleagues from science and engineering education right here on our campus. Call for papers is open.

SEFI is the largest network focused on engineering education in Europe. SEFI also has 12 Special Interest Groups that focus for example on disciplinary areas such as Physics and Mathematics education as well as cross-cutting topics like Sustainability and Engineering Skills.

Under the theme of "Educating Responsible Engineers”, this conference aims to delve into ways of integrating social and environmental responsibility at the heart of the education of technical studies graduates.

We are excited to share that our official Call for Papers has been released. We warmly invite you to contribute by submitting your work. SEFI takes two kinds of papers:

  • Research papers on engineering and STEM education which include either qualitative or quantitative data
  • Practice papers which describe an innovative educational practice and which includes a strong conceptualisation (but does not need data per se)

The ratio between paper types is essentially 50:50 - so please consider sharing your teaching practices as well as any educational research.

All relevant information can be found here.

You might want to look at SEFI Proceedings of previous editions of the conference.

This is a great opportunity for you to share your educational practices and to learn from other engineering teachers from universities all over Europe.

If you are a teacher at EPFL, a postdoc or doctoral student involved in teaching, come to the SEFI information drop-in session to learn more about SEFI and how being a part of SEFI can benefit you.
