Resource to develop inclusive communication at ENAC

The Diversity Office at ENAC (DO@ENAC) has set up a website with resources to help the community adopt inclusive communication.
The language we use every day is important as it can unwittingly transmit biases. The Diversity Office at ENAC (DO@ENAC) and particularly its Communication and Information Workgroup strives to encourage a standard of inclusive communication at ENAC both in French and English.
The Vice-Presidency for Responsible Transformation (VPT) has put into place a guide to support inclusive languages in French. In addition, DO@ENAC members Arthur (Türi) Adams and Ghislain Motos (both Post-docs in the Environmental Engineering Institute) have developed a website, that complements the pages provided by the VPT, with a focus on the use of inclusive language in English. The goal of this website is to serve as a tool to help ENAC members (and beyond) use the English language in a neutral way. Specifically, it offers alternatives to the most common pitfalls in everyday situations (e.g., emailing, job advertisements) in the form of a glossary of dos and don’ts in inclusive communication. The French and English websites are linked to serve the ENAC and EPFL community in the best way possible.
