Professor Joseph Labuz is visiting LMS for one week

Prof. Labuz is the director of the Rock Mechanics Laboratory and the head of the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. His research expertise is in experimental rock mechanics, including fracture, strength, and constitutive behavior; acoustic emission and imaging techniques; and novel testing apparatus, for which he has been awarded two patents. On January 15 during the celebration of 80th anniversary of the geotechnical group at EPFL, Prof. Labuz will give a lecture “On yielding, failure, and softening response of rock.”
