Professors Semyon Malamud (SFI@EPFL) and Norman Schürhoff (University of Lausanne) have been selected to represent Switzerland at the 4nations cup which brings together the most promising young scholars in financial economics from four countries.
On May 3, at the London Business School (UK), Professors Semyon Malamud (SFI@EPFL) and Norman Schürhoff (University of Lausanne) will represent Switzerland at the 4nations cup. They will compete against candidates from three other countries which are France, Great-Britain and Sweden. These countries have also nominated two lead country candidates to take part in this cup.
The 4nations cup brings the most promising young scholars in financial economics in one day of 'mini seminars'. The 40 minutes seminars are given by candidates from the four nations that are a short flight away from one another. At the end of the day, the audience votes for the candidates and the nation with most points receives the cup.
The candidates in the tournament are the most promising young (time since PhD less than 10 years) scholars in financial economics affiliated with universities domiciled in the participating nations.
The candidates are selected by a scientific committee whose members are affiliated with universities in the participating countries. Prof. Erwan Morellec (EPFL) is part of this scientific committee.
