Prof. Dimitrios Lignos received one of the 2025 Special Achievement Awards from the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). A Special Achievement Award provides special recognition to individuals (industry members, designers, or educators) who have demonstrated notable singular or multiple achievements in structural steel design, construction, research, or education. This award honors living individuals who have made a positive and substantial impact on the structural steel design and construction industry. Prof. Lignos is specifically recognized for his efforts in creating RESSLab Hub, an open-access database and models used in the design and assessment of steel and composite structures.
The award was delivered during the Steel Conference, the premier conference educational event for the structural steel industry, bringing together structural engineers, educators and fabricators organized by the American Institute of Steel Construction in Luisville, KY, USA.
