Prof. David Andrew Barry
Professor David Andrew Barry, Full Professor of Environmental Remediation and Ecohydrology left on retirement on 31 August 2023.
David Andrew Barry joined EPFL as a full professor in 2005. He is a leading expert in water quality, hydrodynamics, groundwater analysis and soil erosion. His research has a particular focus on contaminant transport, the remediation of soil and groundwater, and the impact of climate change on large lakes. This acclaimed researcher has an impressive list of publications and is a highly esteemed lecturer and colleague. He was also a very committed member of the School who serves on key committees and has made a significant contribution to EPFL. David Andrew Barry was Dean a.i. from mid -2018 to end of 2019. He was also head of theEnvironmental Engineering Institute (IIE) from 2008 to 2012 and from 2017 to 2023.
