PolyLAN 23, a 1,000-gamer LAN-party
For the past 10 years, the EPFL student association PolyLAN has been organizing LAN parties, focusing on fair play, innovation and discovery. Their next event, from April 18th to 21st, promises to be exceptional.
The EPFL's brand new Swiss Tech Convention Center will host more than 1,000 gamers from all backgrounds during the 4-day Easter weekend. The event offers something for professional and casual gamers alike. There will be lots of animation and mini tournaments in about thirty different games. These games will be played in the same friendly and convivial atmosphere that is typically found at PolyLAN events. Moreover, five competitive tournaments in the best-known e-sport games will be held in partnership with WeSports, another association in the Lausanne area. A total of CHF 25,000 in prize money will be split among the winners of these tournaments.
In addition to these tournaments, PolyLAN has many more surprises in store, including many outdoor events, commented broadcasts, card and board games, etc. However, there will also be an area open to visitors and onlookers wishing to experience this unusual atmosphere.
PolyLAN 23 offers IC students on the organizing committee a unique opportunity to apply the theoretical principles seen in class. With the support of their partner Cisco, they have the possibility of setting up a computer network using the latest technologies and high-end devices usually reserved for very large companies
PolyLAN 23 will be the first large-scale event held at the Swiss Tech Convention Center since its inauguration. If you would like to be part of this adventure, please register at www.polylan.ch !
