On Friday 13th of July 2018, Yen-Huan Li , a PhD student at LIONS lab, successfully defended his PhD thesis. The thesis, entitled Learning without Smoothness and Strong Convexity, was supervised by Prof. Volkan Cevher.
On Friday 13th of July 2018, Yen-Huan Li , a PhD student at LIONS lab, successfully defended his PhD thesis. The thesis, entitled Learning without Smoothness and Strong Convexity, was supervised by Prof. Volkan Cevher. It provides rigorous and efficient solutions to resolve the theory-practice gaps, due to lack of the smoothness and strong convexity conditions in standard theory, in important machine learning applications.
Yen-Huan lands a faculty position in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Taiwan University as of August 1st, 2018. Congratulations Yen-Huan!
