PEL PhD Thesis - Ms. Nikolina Djekanovic

Ms. Nikolina Djekanovic has successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis, titled "Modeling, Optimization and Design of High Power Medium Frequency Transformers". The examination committee was composed of Prof. Elena Lomonova (TU/e, Netherlands), Dr. Thomas Gradinger (Hitachi Energy Research, Switzerland), Dr. Jasmin Smajic (ETH, Switzerland), and supported by Prof. Andreas Burg (EPFL, Switzerland). The thesis deals with the design optimization of high-power medium-frequency transformers for medium-voltage direct current transformers.

Nikolina will soon join ABB Traction, Switzerland, working on power electronics conversion technologies for railway applications.
