Protection Coordination in Marine DC Systems
Mr. Seongil Kim has successfully defended his PhD thesis, titled "Protection Coordination in Marine DC Power Distribution Networks". Due to ongoing situation with COVID-19, complete PhD examination has been conducted through online meeting. The examination committee was composed of: Prof. Seung Ki Sul (Seoul National University, Korea), Dr. Rachid Cherkaoui (EPFL, Switzerland), Dr. Jürgen Steinke (Hitachi ABB Power Grids, Switzerland) and supported by Prof. Karen Mulleners (EPFL, Switzerland). The research work has been sponsored by Hyundai Electric & Energy Systems from Korea. The thesis deals with protection coordination in dc power system, with special focus on marine dc power distribution networks.
Seongil will be soon rejoining research centre of Hyundai Electric & Energy Systems in Korea.
