PEL PhD Thesis - Mr. Renan Pillon Barcelos

Ms. Renan Pillon Barcelos has successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis, titled "DC Power Distribution Networks with DC Transformers". The examination committee was composed of Prof. Mario Paolone (EPFL, Switzerland), Prof. Marcelo Lobo Heldwein (TUM, Germany), Dr. Piotr Dworakowski (SuperGrid Institute, France), and supported by Prof. Colin Jones (EPFL, Switzerland). The thesis deals with the design and modeling of direct current transformers for DC power distribution networks.
Renan will soon join SIEMENS Energy, Germany, working on modular multilevel converters for HVDC applications.
