Pedro Reis, professor at the School of Engineering’s Flexible Structures Laboratory (FLEXLAB) and director of the institute of Mechanical Engineering, has become the President of the Society of Engineering Science (SES).

The Society of Engineering Science, which was founded in 1963, brings together researchers to find new connections between their fields and therefore promotes the development and strengthening of the interfaces between the various disciplines in engineering, sciences, and mathematics.

Professor Reis will hold this prestigious position for a one-year term and is the first President in SES' history from an institution outside of the USA.
